The Edelbrock 4-barrel 1406 Performer Series 600 CFM electronic choke carburetor is a well-made, well-tuned carburetor that can endure the stresses of daily driving while delivering reliable, consistent street performance day in and day out. Due to a variety of characteristics, the 1406 Performer Series 600 CFM electric choke carburetor thrives on the street.

The first involves switching between circuits using metering rods. Engine backfires have no impact on the carburetor, so there are no power valves to blow out, and the rods can be changed in a flash without taking the Edelbrock carburetor off or draining the gas tank. Second, because of its unique capacity to "hold a tune," the carburetor maintains its tune after being tuned.
This means that the performance is consistent, and the calibrating is unchanged when compared to other carburetors. The two-piece, all-aluminum body is lightweight, warp-resistant, and compatible with gasoline, ethanol, and blended fuels. Simple rear-pivot floats and tubular bowls add to a carburetor's durability, use, and tuning simplicity for countless hours of trouble-free operation.
Notes for Installation
When coupled with the Lokar bracket SRK-4000, Performer Series Carbs will work with Ford automatic overdrive transmissions (AOD); Recommended cubic inch displacement for big block dual-quad applications is 396-502 c.i.d. ; Alcohol, race fuel, or E85 pump fuel cannot be used with Edelbrock carburetors since they are not calibrated for them. An edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor will be damaged and lose its guarantee if it is used with alcohol or E85. Between both the fuel pump & carburetor, a new fuel filter must be used. If they are not specifically designed for use with alcohol fuels, these fuels may potentially damage other fuel system components. The manufacturer's guarantee on the carburetor will expire if you don't do this.
